Membership of the Society includes:
- a significant 35% discount on any books ordered from our Manchester University Press series,Studies in Modern French and Francophone Studies.
- a subscription at significantly discounted rates to the internationally-acclaimed journal French History, which is published four times a year on behalf of the Society by Oxford University Press.
- In addition, members benefit from having access back to Volume 1 of the journal online, rather than just the access to ‘current’ content that many libraries have as part of their subscription.
Every issue of the journal includes a ‘Society News’ section, which allows members to keep in touch with the society’s activities and includes news of forthcoming events and details of recipients of the society’s prizes and bursaries.

To help support emerging scholars, the Society has arranged for Postgraduates to be able to join the Society free of charge for the duration of their degree.
