We are closing for the summer! Well, in part. Our regular features won’t be appearing as usual, but we’ve got a great line up of blogs to help those of you thinking of applying for research fellowships. As crazy as it sounds, the next round of applications for postdoctoral research (and teaching) fellowships is about to start. Cambridge often have a few Junior Research Fellowships advertised as early as August. By the autumn, everyone is in the throws of the first round of applications.
To help all those early career researchers draw up plans for applications, we are running a series of testimonials from successful applicants who have secured research fellowships in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. We’ll be running them in July and August, so by the time you need to start applying, you’ll have a range of helpful first-hand-experience accounts. Of course there can be an overload of information and advice about how to apply for jobs – but you can pick and chose what is useful to you or not. Hopefully this will serve as a source you can use if you feel the need, and even inspire some of you to apply for postdocs you had not thought about. In the meantime … good luck, enjoy the summer, and if in need of a laugh/cry think of the current state of British politics.
