Society Publications: French History.
From its inception the Society has been associated with the journal FRENCH HISTORY.
FRENCH HISTORY is an international forum for all approaches to the subject. The editors work closely with an international board of established Historians to develop articles to appeal to the widest academic audience. Our authors reflect this global outlook, and we particularly encourage the submission of ground-breaking articles by non-anglophone historians. We are encourage submissions from scholars at whatever stage of their careers and in whatever field of French history and related disciplines. We publish longer review articles, fora and historiographical essays, as well as special themed issues, that open up new avenues in research to a wider audience, and would welcome suggestions for future contributions of this sort.
Each issue of FRENCH HISTORY includes a ‘Society News’ section which informs members of the Society’s activities and features reports on current research and conferences by recipients of the Society’s grants and bursaries, as well as information on forthcoming events.
FRENCH HISTORY can offer unparalleled exposure for authors who are keen to disseminate their work to a global audience. Through the success of OUP’s collection sales, nearly 3,000 institutional sites now have access to the journal and the usage for articles available online in this way has been impressive. The editorial office also offers a transparent and secure online submission system which provides prompt decisions on all submitted articles. In addition Advance Access means that publication can be as quick as six weeks from the point of submission to the publisher thus facilitating rapid access of your article to readers.
FRENCH HISTORY is edited by Julian Wright and Penny Roberts, and the reviews editor is Tim Baycroft.
